During the 2ND Presidential debate, watched by 64 million Americans & held at the Palace of Fine arts in San Fransisco, Max Frankel asked Gerald Ford if America has been to soft on Communism, Ford responds with a 5 minute rambling speech which he declares "There is no Soviet domination of Eastern Europe." During the Vice Presidential debate, Bob Dole declared that 1.6 million Americans were killed in "Democratic Wars" This statement by Dole was seen by 43 million American viewers on TV and replayed countless of times on the nightly news.
